April 19, 2008 The Millie Best Environmental Award
Robert P. Turner, longtime local volunteer and land use official, is the fourth recipient of the Millie Best Environmental award.

Mr. Turner is best known for his leadership in the 1970s in the effort to prepare The Weston Environmental Resources Manual, which took more than 15 months to complete.

Robert P. Turner, a Weston resident for more than 50 years, is the fourth recipient of the Millie Best Environmental award.

Detective Carl Filsinger spoke at the Kiwanis' weekly meeting about the Weston email cyber service neighborhood watch.

The eWatch program provides subscribers with immediate notices, daily and weekly updates on crime prevention, current investigations suspects/suspect vehicle information, crime trends, and safety and security recommendations.

November 17, 2007 Kiwanis Annual Food Drive

Kiwanians with the help of the Key Club, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts had a very successful food drive. They spent the day in front of Peter's Market and Ancona's Market collecting food donations for the Weston Food Pantry at the Norfield Church.

November 10, 2007 First Selectman Woody Bliss and Kiwanian Jane Young-Anglim, present yellow ribbon to Kiwanian Gil Sanborn, center.

Kiwanian Gil Sanborn has been working extensively to support members of the Dagger Brigade and their families. The Brigade is headquartered in Schweinfurt, Germany and troops from the Brigade currently in Iraq will be returning in January. In anticipation of their return, Kiwanian Jane Young-Anglim made a huge 11 ft. yellow ribbon. Mr. Sanborn will be taking this ribbon back to Schweinfurt, Germany to welcome the troops home on behalf of Weston and Kiwanis. Notes of support and thanks from Westonites will be prepared and attached to the ribbon for presentation at the Welcome Home ceremony in Germany.

Norfield Project Kiwanian, Fred Schneider takes the lead in managing the Norfield Church carriage house repairs.

Kiwanian, Fred Schneider coordinates work detail with Emerson Phillips. Many volunteers from the Weston Kiwanis Club, Boy Scouts, Key Club, Norfield parishioners and Westonites worked over 1700 hours repairing the historic Norfield Church carriage house.
