| One of the principal purposes of the Kiwanis Club of Weston is the cultivation of a sense of community sharing among the town's citizens, especially among the young people growing up here. Whether it be a Pasta Dinner, a July 4 celebration or a Bicycle Rodeo, we attempt to work with young people. Notable have been past participations with the Boy Scouts, the Girl Scouts and the Key Club. The Weston Key Club is the local chapter of the oldest youth services organization in the country, founded in 1925 in Sacramento, Cal. Like its Kiwanis sponsor, its focus is on community service, good citizenship and friendships. It currently has over 80 members and raises money for such causes as the Make a Wish Foundation, as well as local charities. While its center is among high school students, it attempts to participate in the wider community, possibly including in the future a Builders' Club in the middle school or a Circle K club of college students. Youth Service Award:

| The award is given for outstanding achievements, particularly in community service. The selected individual must have demonstrated exemplary behavior, attitude and values consistent with those Kiwanis International espouses. This includes encouraging following the Golden Rule in all human relationships, applying higher social, business and professional standards and by example developing serviceable citizenship.
